Update On Life Event Change Processing

As we announced in December, MNsure is engaged in a process to address the large number of outstanding life event change requests. MNsure has been closing cases for consumers who have reported life event changes and having them reapply to get their eligibility updated for 2017. We initially focused this process on consumers who reported a decrease in income, but are now broadening the initiative to include nearly all types of reported life events. Consumers who call MNsure to newly report most types of life events are also given the option to have their case closed so they can reapply.

Once MNsure has closed their case, the consumer is mailed a notice informing them that they must reapply to get their eligibility updated for 2017. This letter also tells them to call MNsure after they have reapplied so that the updated eligibility can be processed.
