DHS has started the final selection of migration-MAGI enrollees for migration from MAXIS to METS.
DHS has included some cleanup cases with the September migration. The cleanup cases are MAXIS cases that include enrollees who meet all migration-MAGI criteria but are unknown to METS or have a closed or inactive METS case. Since these enrollees were determined to have no case in METS, they are getting letters asking them to apply in METS. The enrollees can apply online or by requesting a paper application and completing and submitting it. These enrollees have been selected outside of their MAXIS renewal month.
At this time, an enrollee not selected for migration can have his or her eligibility moved to METS if the enrollee asks for that, or if the enrollee's MAXIS coverage closes for a reason unrelated to migration.
DHS has asked workers to not process new eligibility in MAXIS for a person whose eligibility is determined using MAGI, as this will result in added work for both the enrollee and agency when final migration cleanup begins.
