Apply for Coverage

Depending on your situation, buying health insurance can be simple or complicated. You can do it yourself or get someone to help you every step of the way.

The 2017 open enrollment period ended on January 31. If you missed this deadline you will have to wait until the next open enrollment period to enroll in private coverage, with coverage starting no sooner than January 1, 2018, unless you qualify for a special enrollment period.

You can apply any time of year to see what financial help you may qualify for, but you can get a quick estimate without applying by reviewing these income guidelines. If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, you can enroll any time of year.
