ST. PAUL, Minn. - Today, MNsure officially executed a contract with Deloitte Consulting, LLP to provide key project management support for the state's health insurance marketplace. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that oversees state-based health insurance marketplace implementation, approved the funding terms of the agreement between Deloitte, MNsure and the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
"We are happy to now have a fully executed contract with Deloitte," said interim CEO Scott Leitz. "This means Deloitte can now get to work in earnest to create a better user experience in time for 2015 open enrollment, which begins in November."
Under the terms of the initial nine-month, $4.95 million contract, Deloitte will provide:
Representatives from Deloitte will present an initial project plan to the MNsure Board of Directors at their regularly scheduled April 30 meeting. Deloitte's experience also includes 16 other states where Deloitte worked to help enhance technology and modernize eligibility systems to comply with the Affordable Care Act. In addition to Minnesota, Maryland and Nevada have recently turned to Deloitte for support with their state-based marketplaces.
