ST. PAUL, Minn.-MNsure is highlighting the work of faith-based navigator organizations during "Faith Week," a week of education, outreach and enrollment events at places of worship throughout the state.

"For many Minnesotans, their place of worship is a tight-knit community and a place where helpful information is shared," said MNsure CEO Scott Leitz. "Many of Minnesota's faith-based organizations are invaluable in communicating our message to these communities."

One of these faith-based organizations is the Minnesota Council of Churches. The organization connects with Christians, churches, religious leaders and denominations, as well as people of other faiths, refugees and those in need. "The members of Minnesota Council of Churches build the common good in the world," said Rev. Canon Peg Chemberlin, executive director of the Minnesota Council of Churches, also a MNsure navigator organization. "It has been our privilege to do this by connecting our refugee clients, immigrants and others to the healing opportunities available through MNsure."

Other organizations of faith that are not directly affiliated with MNsure also are sharing the benefits of enrolling in health insurance coverage with their members.

"Jewish Family Service of St. Paul recognizes that faith-based and community organizations have a role in assisting individuals and families who are either uninsured or underinsured to obtain insurance," said Ted Flaum, executive director of Jewish Family Service of St. Paul. "We therefore are happy to assist in educating those who might be eligible on how to obtain insurance through MNsure."

In coordination with Faith Week, MNsure-certified navigators and brokers are holding an enrollment event centered on communities of faith. Details are below.
