ST. PAUL, Minn.-As the January 15 commercial coverage enrollment deadline closes in, MNsure offered five things to know about enrolling through the state health insurance exchange.

  1. January 15 at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline to enroll into commercial coverage that begins February 1.
  2. The open enrollment period continues through February 15, but waiting until after January 15 to enroll means coverage will not begin until March 1.
  3. Minnesotans eligible for MinnesotaCare or Medical Assistance can enroll year-round.
  4. The MNsure Contact Center will be open extended hours on January 15, between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. The Contact Center can be reached at 1-855-366-7873.
  5. MNsure is the only place to determine what financial help you might be eligible for, such as tax credits, low-cost or no-cost coverage.

Free, in-person assistance is available for consumers who need help getting questions answered and getting enrolled into coverage. MNsure offers six walk-in enrollment centers, staffed by MNsure-certified agents/brokers and navigators, located in Woodbury, Austin, Roseville, Waconia, Willmar and Bloomington, in addition to assistance throughout the state. More information about getting in-person assistance can be found at MNsure.org.
