Over 480,000 Minnesotans Accessing Coverage Through MNsure

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Enrollment numbers show that more than 480,000 Minnesotans have found health coverage through MNsure, which helps Minnesotans access public programs like Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and MinnesotaCare, as well enroll in private health plans.

"MNsure continues its role as Minnesota's one-stop shop for health insurance," said MNsure Acting CEO Nate Clark. "Check out MNsure.org to see if you are eligible for financial help and join the hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans who have already found coverage."

Statewide, the average tax credit for Minnesota families is more than $7,000 per year. In greater Minnesota, the average tax credit is over $9,300 per year.

BY THE NUMBERS:
Cumulative enrollments as of EOD August 20, 2018, for enrollment year 2018

Private health plan sign-ups: 136,226
Medicaid applicants: 285,897
MinnesotaCare applicants: 59,667
TOTAL enrollments: 481,790

MNsure's 2019 open enrollment period begins November 1, 2018, and runs until January 13, 2019.

Even though open enrollment is over, Minnesotans may still be able to get 2018 coverage. Certain life changes like having a baby, turning 26, moving, or getting married may qualify you for a /new-customers/enrollment-deadlines/special-enrollment/index.jspspecial enrollment period. Enroll year-round if you are a member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe or qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare.
