FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ST. PAUL, Minn.— Starting today, Minnesotans can use MNsure’s new online plan comparison tool to compare plans in advance of open enrollment for 2019. The new consumer-friendly tool helps Minnesotans quickly compare plan options, estimate cost, and financial assistance.

“Consumers should visit MNsure.org and use our new plan comparison tool to find the right plan for them and their families,” said MNsure CEO Nate Clark. “With rates declining across the state, we encourage Minnesotans to visit our website and see if they can save.”

MNsure's new plan comparison tool has increased functionality that allows Minnesotans to compare plans by premium, co-pay, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, covered prescriptions and more. Additionally, the tool can help consumers narrow their search based on criteria that is important to them, like metal level, HSA eligibility, quality rating, and plan type. The tool also provides information on primary visit and generic drug co-pays and co-insurance.

“In addition to expanded plan information and cost breakdowns, the new tool will provide an enhanced user experience,” said Clark. “This new tool can help identify if Minnesotans are eligible for financial assistance, which could save consumers thousands.”

Individuals earning up to $48,560 a year, or a family of four earning up to $100,400 a year, could qualify for federal tax credits. Additional /financial-help/income-guidelines/index.jspincome guidelines are available on the MNsure website. Approximately 65 percent of current enrollees are receiving tax credits.

While MNsure encourages Minnesotans to "window shop" for 2019 coverage, individuals looking for coverage will need to wait to enroll in 2019 coverage until November 1, the first day of open enrollment.

Over 480,000 Minnesotans have accessed coverage through MNsure during the 2018 plan year. More information can be found at mnsure.org.
