Minnesotans can see proposed 2018 rate information submitted by Minnesota insurers to the Minnesota Commerce Department for individual health insurance plans, including those that will be sold through MNsure. Please see the Department of Commerce’s news release for more information, as well as Governor Dayton’s statement on the proposed rates.
Also, BlueCross leadership announced today that they made a business decision to transition 2,700 Minnesotans currently on the exchange small business market (SHOP) to off exchange products. BCBS has pledged to work with MNsure and federal partners to maintain the tax credits which small businesses are eligible for under the Affordable Care Act.
This decision does not impact the almost 130,000 Minnesotans- early retirees, self-employed and other Minnesotans enrolled through MNsure on an individual basis – or the rest of the small group market. There is no immediate impact on current SHOP enrollees or the tax credits small businesses are currently receiving. Over the coming weeks, we understand that BlueCross will work with SHOP enrollees to communicate next steps
