Open Enrollment Period
Open enrollment is the annual opportunity to enroll in a private health insurance plan or renew or make changes to a current plan.
Open enrollment for 2024 ended January 15, 2024, but you may be able to enroll now if you qualify for one of the following:
- Special enrollment period: If you experience a major life event, like having a baby, getting married or losing your job, you may qualify to enroll in private health insurance outside the annual open enrollment period.
- Year-round enrollment: If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, or are a member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, you can enroll any time of year.
