Complete the Application and Plan Selection from Start to Finish in One Sitting

You will not be able to make changes to your application once you have electronically signed it. Complete the application and plan selection from start to finish in one sitting without logging out or closing your browser window.

To ensure the best experience, do not click Save and Exit and come back later to pick up where you left off.

Changing Your Application

If you didn’t apply for financial help when you enrolled in 2016 but want to apply for financial help in 2017, you must call our Contact Center at 1-855-366-7873 to apply. Do not create a new MNsure account.

The Application Is for Your Household

In general, your household includes people who are related to you and either live with you or will be included on your federal tax return. (Do not include a roommate if they are not on your tax return.)

If you are applying for financial help ("application WITH financial help"), you need to include all members of your household to get the correct financial assistance.

If you are not applying for financial help ("application WITHOUT financial help"), include your family members who you want to be covered with you on your private plan.

Only enter data into the required fields (those marked with *).

Reporting Your Income

In general, you should enter any type of income that you report on your federal tax return. The value of assets are not counted as income and are not used to determine whether you qualify for financial help.

Making Application Changes

You will not be able to make changes to your application once you have electronically signed it.

Eligibility Notification and Financial Help

If you completed an application for financial help ("assisted application"):

  • You will receive a letter confirming the coverage for which you have been determined eligible. Applicants should expect to receive a notification letter within 3 to 5 business days after completing an application.
  • You may qualify for tax credits, cost-sharing reductions or for no-cost or low-cost coverage through Medical Assistance (MA) or MinnesotaCare. These income guidelines shows for what you may qualify depending on household size and annual income.
  • If you completed the application and were told you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare you do not need to do anything else. You will receive further information in the mail that will either confirm your coverage or describe if there are any additional things that you need to do.
