Health Insurance Questions Answered at the Twin Cities Pride Festival this Weekend

6/23/2017 11:50:09 AM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—MNsure partner, Minnesota AIDS Project, will be at the Twin Cities Pride Festival to talk with Minnesotans about the benefits of MNsure. The festival runs Saturday, June 24, to Sunday, June 25.

"Health care information is especially important for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) individuals because research shows that many hurdles still exist when trying to obtain coverage," said MNsure CEO Allison O'Toole. "Minnesota AIDS Project has been a MNsure partner since day one and we are thrilled they will be assisting Minnesotans at the Pride Festival again this year."

The Minnesota AIDS Project has been involved in promoting sexual health and HIV prevention and care in the LGBTQ community at Pride events around the state since their founding in 1983.

Allison Connelly, a navigator with the Minnesota AIDS Project says, “they are proud to be at the Twin Cities Pride Festival again this year to connect members of our community with affordable health care through our partnership with MNsure. Stop by our booth for help answering questions regarding health insurance, and to schedule a future appointment with one of our navigators."

Ninety-six percent of Minnesotans have health coverage—the highest percentage in state history. In plan year 2017, more than 500,000 Minnesotans have found health coverage through MNsure. Minnesotans eligible for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare can enroll year-round. More information can be found at mnsure.org.
