The Department of Human Services has started communicating with Minnesota Health Care Program (MHCP) enrollees via text messaging. 

Texts will be sent to head of households with a valid cell phone number on file. All text messages will be sent from number 28343. The first message was sent Monday, May 15, 2023, and it stated:

This is a message from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). We will now be texting you with important updates and announcements about your health insurance. This is the only number we will text you from with updates about your health insurance. If you do not want to receive messages, reply STOP. Message and data rates may apply.
