On April 28, 2023, DHS announced that MinnesotaCare premiums are temporarily waived for all enrollees for coverage from May 2023 through June 2024. See Bulletin 23-21-13 DHS Cancels Unpaid MinnesotaCare Premiums and Temporarily Waives Premiums for all Enrollees for more information. The MinnesotaCare invoices mailed June 15 for August coverage included a notice insert that explains the change.

Beginning with invoices mailed in April for June 2023 coverage, enrollees will see a $0 monthly premium amount on their bill. We have retroactively adjusted May premiums to $0, and we are working to provide refunds to households with a credit over $5. MinnesotaCare enrollees can request refunds for credits of $5 or less. The date that refunds will be issued is to be determined.
