Some of Minnesota's health insurance companies are limiting the number of people they will accept into their individual market health insurance plans. These limits, or caps, will begin with the 2017 coverage year and apply to the entire individual market, both on and off the MNsure marketplace. The insurers with a cap are Medica, HealthPartners and UCare. Blue Plus, Dentegra and Delta Dental do not have an enrollment cap.
Update 11/11/2016: Medica has reached its enrollment cap for new customers who live outside Benton, Morrison, Crow Wing, Mille Lacs or Stearns county.
It is important that you enroll in coverage as soon as possible. All Minnesotans will be able to enroll, but choices will become more limited as enrollment caps are reached.
