On Monday, September 15, MNsure will begin processing renewals for consumers currently eligible for qualified health plans, updating their financial assistance eligibility for 2026. During this period, known as blackout, MNsure will pause the processing of life events. The blackout period is expected to end on Thursday, September 25.

While consumers and assisters may still report life events during this time, any changes will not be applied until the blackout period is over. Consumer renewal eligibility notices will not reflect the reported changes until the life event has been processed. After the blackout period ends and the life event is processed, a new eligibility notice will be sent. Please do not contact MNsure via phone or email regarding the status of life event changes during this period.

Consumers can continue to submit new applications, however, those submitted after September 15 will have their 2026 eligibility updated in a "catch-up" batch scheduled for mid-October.
