Manage Your Assister
Instructions for consumers to add, change or remove an assister association in the DHS system.
Associating with a MNsure certified navigator or certified application counselor (CAC) grants them permission to act on your behalf, including applying for coverage and enrolling in a plan within the DHS System. To locate a navigator in your area, visit the LoginMN website.
Associating with a Navigator or CAC
You will use the "Assign an Assister" feature in your online account to authorize a navigator or CAC.
- Obtain a seven-digit reference number from the assister you are working with to enter into your online DHS account.
- Log in to your DHS account, go to the "Your Account" menu option and select the "My Assister" menu.
- After the page opens, to authorize an assister, select "Assign an Assister."
- In the "Enter the seven-digit assister reference number" field, enter the number given to you by your assister and click on the magnifying glass to search.
- If you enter a valid reference number, the page will display information about your assister. If you do not see the correct name, reference number or contact information, contact the assister.
- Select the "Assign this Assister" button to continue assigning your assister.
- The "Assister Authorization/Agent of Record" page will open. Carefully read this information. If requested, your assister can provide you with a copy of this information.
- By clicking on "I agree", your assister will be authorized to act on your behalf. The "Your Assister" page will now show your "Assigned Assister Details."
It is important to note that even after granting authorization to an assister, you remain responsible for addressing any notices you receive and for paying any necessary premiums to initiate your coverage.
Change or Remove Your Navigator or CAC
You can remove an assister at any time; however, that action will not affect information provided or actions taken by that assister prior to that date.
- Log in to your DHS account, go to the "Your Account" menu option and select the "My Assister" menu.
- The "Your Assister" page will open and you will see the name and contact information for the that is currently authorized to acting on your behalf.
- Click on "Change or Remove this Assister" and then select "Remove Assister".
If you need to add a new assister to act on your behalf or remove your assister by mistake, follow the steps above to reauthorize an assister.
