DACA Grantees' Eligibility for MinnesotaCare will Not Appear in METS

1/27/2017 12:58:34 PM

In December 2016, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that, beginning January 1, 2017, it is providing MinnesotaCare coverage to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) grantees who meet all MinnesotaCare eligibility requirements.

The eligibility of a DACA grantee who is approved for MinnesotaCare will not appear in the Minnesota Eligibility Technology System (METS). If you have questions about the status of a DACA case, please contact MinnesotaCare. The ARC is unable to provide information about these cases.

DACA grantees who want to apply for MinnesotaCare must use the DHS-6696, Application for Health Coverage and Help Paying Costs. Please forward completed applications and requested verifications from DACA grantees to DHS. Please write “DACA” at the top of the application cover.

You can forward these applications to DHS by fax or mail:

  • fax number: 651-431-7579
  • mailing address:
    Minnesota Department of Human Services
    PO Box 64839
