MNsure recently shared information about the new process for assisters helping consumers who need to update their FTI authorization for renewing their QHP coverage in 2019. However, some consumers may still need to update their FTI for their current QHP coverage in 2018. Assisters working to update a consumer’s FTI authorization for this year, 2018, should call the ARC or Broker Line to request a copy of the 2018 FTI Authorization form be sent to the consumer. The consumer should then fill out that form and return it to MNsure; instructions are on the form.
Submitting a 2019 FTI form will not authorize MNsure to retrieve IRS data for a 2018 eligibility determination, and the consumer will remain ineligible for APTCs or cost-sharing for the current plan year.
