Special Enrollment Period (SEP) Verifications

If verification documents are submitted using the special enrollment period upload tool (or SEPUP tool): Assisters will need to wait at least ten minutes before contacting the ARC or Broker Service Line to have verification documents reviewed and approved.

Unlike the COVID-19 SEP that just ended, most other SEPs require some kind of proof (verification). Some SEPs allow verifications to be submitted after SEP eligibility has been determined. Other SEPs need “pre-verification.” Before submitting verifications, assisters should first follow the steps outlined on the /assister-central/helping-consumers/sep/index.jspSpecial Enrollment Period page to confirm whether the consumer is eligible for a SEP.

Reminder: MNsure is not able to accept verifications via fax or email. Verifications should be submitted to the agency listed in the upper left corner of the first page of the consumer’s verification notice. If the notice states that verifications are to be sent to MNsure, the Upload Supporting Documents tool on MNsure.org should be used to securely submit documents.
