Consumers may qualify for free tax preparation assistance at various locations across Minnesota. Assistance with federal and state income tax returns is generally available through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and AARP Tax- Aide programs if a consumer meets the following criteria:

• Age 60 or older
• Individuals with a disability
• Individuals who speak limited or no English
• Annual income of less than $64,000

AARP Tax-Aide sites do not have income or age restrictions.
