If a consumer is reporting a change and it is a medical emergency, the assister must call with the consumer to report it as these changes cannot be submitted online. There is not a timeline associated with medical emergency LECs. Once the change is processed, the assister will be emailed.
If the change is future dated, a medical emergency LEC is not necessary because changes cannot be processed until they occur (for example. loss of employer-sponsored insurance scheduled for April 30, 2023, cannot be processed before April 30).
