Update to Special Enrollment Period for Loss of Public Program Coverage

10/11/2024 8:07:55 AM

As of October 2, when a consumer is eligible to enroll into a qualified health plan (QHP) due to a loss of Medical Assistance (MA) or MinnesotaCare (MCRE) coverage, they can enroll in a QHP through the last day of the month, four months after their last day of MA or MCRE coverage. For example, if the consumer’s last day of MA coverage was March 31, the consumer can enroll through the end of the day on July 31.

Normal coverage effective dates for a loss of minimum essential coverage special enrollment period apply.
