Assisters often contact the ARC and Broker Service Line without knowing specific information about the consumer’s circumstance, such as the type of loss of coverage or the exact date coverage ended. Prior to making these calls, assisters should know this information and be prepared to report the qualifying life event (QLE).
It is also important to remember that the public health emergency (PHE) has concluded, and if a consumer loses coverage through Medical Assistance (MA) and MinnesotaCare, there is no longer an option for a retroactive coverage start date if they are enrolling in a QHP.
