In some situations, ARC can submit a ticket for a case to be closed instead of reporting a life event change (LEC). The following case changes are NOT able to be closed in lieu of LEC:

• Birth of Child
• Date of Death correction
• Divorce

Other requirements:

• The consumer must be present for the request as the ARC cannot discuss close in lieu without the consumer on the line.
• There cannot be period data matching (PDM) or Reasonable Opportunity Period (ROP) verifications outstanding on the case.
• No household member can have been enrolled in QHP any time in 2025. 
• There can be no public program eligibility on the case.
