In March, we announced that Minnesota's 2024 income tax form (Form M1) now features a checkbox for uninsured individuals seeking insurance. By checking this box, consumers authorize the Minnesota Department of Revenue to share their information with MNsure. MNsure will send the consumer a notice detailing special enrollment options and the next steps.

The qualifying life event (QLE) associated with this checkbox has now been added to the QLE questionnaire in the online enrollment platform as “State Income Taxes (M1) Checkbox." This QLE should be reported through the consumer account using the notice date as the event date. Once reported, the assister should contact the ARC or Broker Service Line to open shopping.
