The path to unwind from the Medicaid continuous coverage provisions has had many twists and turns. Another curveball came recently with guidance released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. States must submit mitigation plans that ensure automatic renewals happen for each individual enrollee in a household. DHS staff have been hard at work putting Minnesota’s mitigation plan together are now transitioning to operationalizing it, training partners and stakeholders on it, and communicating about the work ahead. Ultimately the mitigation plan will help eligible Minnesotans keep their coverage, and with it, access to prescription drugs, vaccines and help with their health. Keeping eligible Minnesotans enrolled in coverage continues to be the state’s top priority.
