Change Application

You can change your application any time of year by calling our Contact Center at 651-539-2099 or 855-366-7873. A MNsure representative will close your current application and give you instructions on what to do next.

IMPORTANT: Changing applications outside of open enrollment does not make you eligible to newly enroll in or make changes to a private health insurance plan. You can enroll in or make changes to private insurance outside of open enrollment only if you have a life event—like moving, getting married, or having a baby—that qualifies you for a special enrollment period.

Change to an Application WITH Financial Help

More savings are available now than ever before through MNsure because of the updates to the Affordable Care Act, including:

  • An increase in the amount of tax credits to help pay for premiums.
  • An expansion of tax credits to middle-income Minnesotans who previously earned too much money to qualify.
  • A change to a health care rule makes more families eligible for lower-cost health coverage.

If you decide to change to the application WITHOUT financial help:

  • If you are enrolled and receiving tax credits or cost-sharing reductions, these subsidies will end when your application with financial help is closed.

Keep Your Account Updated

Report income and other household changes as soon as possible. You may be eligible for low- or no-cost coverage, or increased financial help toward paying for your current plan.
