Myth: MNsure, MinnesotaCare and Medical Assistance are the same thing.

Care, private insurance with financial help and private insurance without financial help.
Myth: MNsure sets premium prices.
Premium rates are submitted by insurance companies, and the Minnesota Department of Commerce reviews and approves them. But MNsure is the only place you can get financial help to reduce the cost of your insurance.
Myth: MNsure controls which doctors you can see.
Health insurance companies, not MNsure, set the physician networks for their plans. Before you select a plan, check which doctors and clinics are in-network. Contact your insurance company if you have questions about in-network and out-of-network providers.
