What is the role of a MNsure-certified broker?
What are the requirements?
Brokers must meet MNsure certification requirements before assisting consumers with plans sold on the MNsure marketplace. There is no cost to certify and the certification process for the annual open enrollment period begins late summer every year.

Certification requirements:
- Maintain active resident or non-resident Minnesota Insurance Producer Life and Health licensure
- Register through MNsure's online broker agency and registration forms
- Agree to comply with the MNsure Code of Conduct (PDF)
- Complete required online training (eligible for free CE credits)
What kind of training will I get?

After you complete registration, you’ll receive an email with a link to the MNsure online training and a unique ID to access your account where you can complete the certification coursework when it is convenient for you.

The coursework will provide information on eligibility and enrollment rules for financial assistance and explain how to assist consumers with enrolling in coverage through MNsure.

Coursework required for certification is eligible for continuing education (CE) credit(s) upon successful completion and will be reported to Sircon.
How will I get compensated?

To receive compensation for assisting a consumer with an enrollment through the MNsure marketplace, an appointment from the carrier is required. Each carrier has its own appointment process. For information about appointments and broker requirements, visit the carrier's website.

Carriers compensate agents/brokers (insurance producers), subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 62V.05, subdivision 3.
How do I learn more about registration and certification?
I'd like to register. How do I do that?

Registration in MNsure's Broker Agency Management Program (BAMP) is required to become a partner and begin the process of certification for agency staff.

Step 1: Review the instructions for creating a BAMP account (PDF).

Step 2: Create a BAMP account and enter staff interested (PDF) in completing the certification process.
