Renew (Keep Same Plan)

Watch your mail, check your inbox:  If you are currently enrolled in a private plan through MNsure, you may be automatically renewed in that plan for next year.

  • MNsure is mailing renewal notices with information about renewing private coverage.
  • Sign in to your MNsure account in the coming weeks and review your notifications for more information.

Check back here on or after November 1 for instructions on how to renew your plan during the 2022 open enrollment period which runs November 1 through January 15.

Preview 2022 Plans

Get ready now for open enrollment. Preview your options for 2022 plans, get estimates on premium costs, deductibles and more, or see if you might qualify for financial help.

If Your Plan is Still Available through MNsure

If you would like to keep the same health and/or dental plan you have this year for your 2022 coverage, and it is still offered on MNsure, you do not need to take any action during open enrollment on your MNsure account. MNsure will automatically renew you into your current health and/or dental plan at the 2022 premium amount, with an updated tax credit, if that is available to you.

You will continue to receive an invoice from your insurance company and must continue to make payments to them to maintain coverage. To ensure your coverage is renewed, you must respond promptly to any requests for additional information.

NOTE: If your plan is available in 2022, some features may change, like network, deductibles and co-pays. Be sure to review the summary of benefits and coverage (SBC) for your plan before you renew. You can find SBCs for all plans offered on MNsure with our plan comparison tool. If you have questions about your plan, call your insurance company.

If Your Plan is No Longer Available through MNsure

If you would like to keep your same plan but it is no longer available through MNsure, your insurance company will automatically enroll you in that same plan if it is still available (outside MNsure) and you will not receive any financial help.

Because of this, we strongly encourage you to come back to MNsure during open enrollment and compare plans to ensure you are getting the best deal and the best coverage for your family.

Keep Your Account Updated

Remember to keep your account up to date by reporting income and other household changes as soon as possible. Certain life changes can make you eligible for a special enrollment period.
