Ms. Arab is a public policy professional and health equity advocate with a strong background in serving underrepresented communities. She currently works with individuals facing housing instability and is a proponent of Housing First approaches. Her previous roles include serving as a policy aide for the Minneapolis City Council, where she focused on housing, economic inclusion, and public health. Ms. Arab also served as executive director of the B.R.A.V.E. Foundation, a nonprofit that empowers Somali American youth in the Twin Cities. A Somali American immigrant and long-time Minnesota resident, she brings both lived experience and professional insight into public health systems such as Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare. She holds a Master of Arts in Health and Human Services Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.
