Where Do I Log In?

It can be difficult to remember which system manages your care. Use these hints to find out which one works best for you:

You likely belong in the MNsure system if:

  • You pay a monthly bill (a "premium") to an insurance company.
  • You get tax credits to lower the cost of that bill.
  • You picked your plan on the MNsure website.
  • Your notices have the MNsure logo at the top.
  • You only received a member ID card from an insurance company. It has the name of the insurer at the top of the card.

You likely belong in the Department of Human Services system if:

  • You don’t have a monthly bill (Medical Assistance and some MinnesotaCare enrollees).
  • You pay a very small monthly bill directly to the state (MinnesotaCare only). This bill comes in the mail. It has a case number and a bill number at the top.
  • Your notices have the Department of Human Services logo at the top.
  • You received a member ID card from a county or Tribal office or the Department of Human Services. It says “Minnesota Health Care Programs” at the top of the card.

TIP: If everyone in your household has Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, don’t log in to the MNsure system to manage your coverage.

Still not sure? Use our coverage tool to see which program you are most likely eligible for based on your income.

  • Losing current insurance

Make a Payment

MNsure does not accept payments. You must pay your insurance company. Always pay by the due date to stay covered.

You may have the option to pay your first month’s premium online after you select a plan through MNsure. Look for the “Pay Now” button, which will connect you to the insurance company’s payment portal.

  • Offering Pay Now: Companion, Delta Dental, Dentegra, Guardian, Health Partners, Humana, Medica, Quartz and UCare.
  • No Pay Now: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and Blue Plus.

How to Check Enrollment Status

You can confirm that your enrollment is complete at any time.

  • Sign in and select “My Dashboard.
  • Under “Your Health Plans,” you’ll see the enrollment status next to each plan.

Pending: We sent your info to the insurance company, but they are waiting for your first payment. If you sent a payment but you still see the Pending status, call your insurance company to verify.

Confirm: You’re all set! No action is needed.
