Enrollment Error
You may qualify for a special enrollment period (SEP) in these cases.
Agency Error
If an action or inaction by MNsure or your navigator or broker caused:
- An error on your enrollment, or
- You were unable to enroll.
You must report the error to MNsure within 60 days.
Key Dates
- SEP begins: MNsure determines the start date. It ends 30 days from that date.
- When you can enroll: During the 30-day window of your SEP, after we verify your qualifying life event.
- When coverage starts: Coverage may start the date when your coverage would have started without the error, inaction or misconduct. Or, the first day of the month after your plan selection date.
Verification Documents
You must provide documents from an appropriate regulatory agency. MNsure will tell you what documents you need.
Violation of Qualified Health Plan Terms and Conditions
If you can demonstrate a violation of the terms and conditions of your qualified health plan.

- 60-day SEP begins: MNsure determines the start date, depending on the situation.
- When you can enroll: Depends on your situation.
- When coverage starts: MNsure will work with the insurance company to correct or eliminate the effects of the violation.
