Is Your Employer Insurance Affordable?

A change in federal law fixed the “family glitch.” This means family members of Minnesotans with offers of employer-sponsored health insurance determined unaffordable may have new opportunities to access subsidized coverage through MNsure, even if they weren’t eligible before.

The enrollment period to sign up for 2023 private insurance ended January 15. To enroll in private insurance now, you will need to qualify for a special enrollment period (SEP) due to a qualifying life event.

Note: A SEP is open through October 31, 2023, to individuals currently enrolled in unaffordable family ESI that does not renew on January 1 of the calendar year.

You can use the estimator at the link below to see if you and/or your family might save on private insurance premiums through MNsure.
