ST. PAUL, Minn..—Starting Tuesday, MNsure, Minnesota's health insurance marketplace, will open a three-month special enrollment period. During this time, any Minnesotan who is not currently enrolled in a plan through MNsure, including those who are uninsured, can take advantage of this enrollment opportunity. MNsure's special enrollment period runs from Tuesday, February 16, to Monday, May 17. Those who enroll in a plan during the special enrollment period will have coverage that begins on the first of the following month. For example, Minnesotans who select a plan and enroll in February will have a March 1 start date.

"This past year has taught us that things can change very quickly, so having comprehensive health insurance can give you peace of mind in case the unexpected happens," said MNsure CEO Nate Clark. "If you missed the open enrollment period for 2021 coverage and you're still uninsured, this is your second chance to get covered. Go to MNsure.org to check out your options starting on Tuesday."

Eligible Minnesotans can also take advantage of /financial-help/index.jspcost-saving benefits available only through MNsure. Most Minnesotans qualify for financial help and nearly half of current MNsure enrollees are receiving tax credits to lower the cost of their monthly premiums. Beginning Tuesday, February 16, Minnesotans who are new to MNsure, those who are uninsured, or those who submitted an application and were determined eligible for 2021 coverage, but didn't pick a plan, can come to MNsure.org to get coverage.

Please note—MNsure's special enrollment period begins one day later than the federal special enrollment period through healthcare.gov. Additionally, Minnesotans currently enrolled in health insurance coverage outside of MNsure should confirm their coverage options through MNsure before making changes to their current coverage.
