December 15 is the Last Day to Enroll for January 1 Coverage

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Minnesotans looking for private health coverage through the MNsure marketplace beginning January 1 have until midnight on Saturday, December 15, to complete enrollment at MNsure.org

"Rates are lower this year. Enroll at MNsure.org by December 15 to ensure you start the new year with the security of health coverage," said MNsure CEO Nate Clark. "If you need help finding a plan that fits your needs, our /help/find-assister/find-broker.jspMNsure-certified brokers provide free, in-person enrollment assistance."

Minnesotans can save thousands if they qualify for financial assistance. Get a quick estimate to see if you might qualify for tax credits by using MNsure’s /shop-compare/compare/index.jspplan comparison tool, or by viewing the /financial-help/income-guidelines/index.jspincome guidelines.

To date, more than 105,900 Minnesotans have signed up for health care coverage through MNsure for 2019.

MNsure has extended /help/contact-us/index.jspContact Center hours in the days leading up to the December 15 deadline:

  • December 13: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m
  • December 14: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • December 15: 8 a.m. to midnight

Additionally, the online /mets/index.jspMNsure marketplace will have extended hours. Beginning Thursday, December 13 at 4 a.m., the marketplace will be open 24 hours a day until midnight on Saturday, December 15.

MNsure reminds Minnesotans that although the federal open enrollment period ends December 15, MNsure's open enrollment period ends one month later — January 13, 2019.

Those who enroll after the December 15 deadline will have coverage that starts February 1, 2019.

In addition to application assistance offered by our /help/find-assister/index.jspMNsure-certified navigators and brokers, MNsure has an /help/find-assister/enrollment-events.jspenrollment events calendar with daily enrollment events in numerous cities throughout the state.

MNsure's sixth /new-customers/enrollment-deadlines/open-enrollment/index.jspopen enrollment period runs November 1, 2018, to January 13, 2019, which is approximately a month longer than the federal open enrollment period. Individuals earning up to $48,560 a year, or a family of four earning up to $100,400 a year, could qualify for federal tax credits. Additional income guidelines are available on the MNsure website.
