This page includes information on how to access the assister portal and the steps for managing consumer authorizations.
Accessing the METS Assister Portal
MNsure-certified navigators and certified application counselors (CACs) must complete additional steps and training to gain access to their assister portal account. Refer to the METS Assister Portal Access Policy for Navigators and CACs for more information.
Account Set Up
Go to the METS Assister Portal Account Set Up page.
Login Help
Navigators and CACs will be required to update their assister portal password periodically, and will be prompted to change their password when the current password expires.
Access the METS Assister Portal is through LoginMN. LoginMN is the State of Minnesota's secure and centralized sign-on service that individuals and businesses use to access State of Minnesota services, programs. Visit LoginMN for assistance and helpful resources.
Technical Tips
- Assisters should make sure their internet browser is updated or they may have issues using the portal.
- Users may experience a login error (403 error) if browser history is not cleared before logging in to the assister portal.
- It is recommended that assisters use “in private” or “incognito” windows when using the assister portal to avoid issues.
- The username (email address) and password for the assister portal is different from other MNsure system applications, such as MN-EES and AMP. Assisters should make sure to verify that they are using the correct credentials before attempting to login.
Consumer Guidance
- Navigators and CACs must never log in to a consumer’s account to complete an authorization without the consumer present. Assisters signing in to a consumer’s account and taking actions without the proper authorization is considered fraud. Visit the Roles and Responsibilities section of Assister Portal for METS for more information.
- Steps for consumers to add, change or remove an assister authorization can be found on the How to Manage Your Assister page on MNsure.org.
- If an assister forgets their reference number to share with consumers, their authorized agency contact can look it up in the Agency Management Program (AMP).
- Resources for Consumers contains additional information that assisters can use to help consumers understand how the METS Assister Portal works.
- Navigators and CACs will NOT receive a notification when a consumer starts or ends an association.
Ending Consumer Authorization
Assisters want to end an authorization with a consumer cannot do so online or by contacting the Assister Resource Center. Inform the Assister Resource Center immediately if you are no longer acting as a MNsure navigator or CAC.
Consumer Lists
Any consumer that has given authorization from their online account will appear on the assister's client list dashboard in the METS Assister Portal. If a consumer ends their authorization, their name will no longer show up in this list.
The consumers who have given their authorization are organized into three lists:
- New: Consumers appear here if the navigator or CAC has not yet accessed their account or completed any tasks for them via the assister portal.
- In Progress: Consumers are moved to this list after the assister has accessed their account for the first time.
- All: A list of consumers who have provided their authorization.
