ST. PAUL, Minn.-To help consumers during open enrollment, MNsure is offering more than 750 free enrollment events in every corner of the state now through the end of open enrollment, with more events expected to be added every week.

"Health insurance can be complicated," said CEO Allison O'Toole. "Our navigator and broker partners are experts at navigating the MNsure system and getting Minnesotans into coverage, all at no additional cost to the consumer."

The posted events range from regular drop-in office hours to larger-scale efforts with multiple partners. No matter the event, Minnesotans can expect to work with MNsure-certified navigators and brokers who can walk them through the online enrollment process, determine if they're eligible for tax credits or answer any other questions they might have.

To date, there have been more than 500 MNsure enrollment events with more than 10,000 consumers assisted.

"The events are searchable by region, date range, services provided, languages spoken and organization name, so chances are there is an upcoming enrollment event near you." said O'Toole. "In a year when premiums are increasing and financial help, available only through MNsure, can make a big difference in the monthly cost of insurance, it literally pays to shop and compare on MNsure now more than ever."

In addition to enrollment events, MNsure's broker enrollment centers--which also offer free in-person assistance-will have extended evening and weekend hours throughout open enrollment

The 2016 open enrollment period began November 1, 2015, and will end on January 31, 2016. Small group employers and Minnesotans eligible for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare can enroll year-round. As of May 2014, 95 percent of Minnesotans have health coverage--the highest percentage in state history.
