ST. PAUL, Minn.-Today, MNsure released the 2015 Navigator Outreach and Enrollment Grant Request for Proposals, encouraging organizations interested in assisting MNsure with outreach and enrollment to apply.

MNsure is issuing $4 million in grants targeted to fund outreach and enrollment efforts from July 1, 2015, until June 30, 2016. Goals for the grant program include assisting populations with barriers to coverage, building an infrastructure of expert regional navigator resources and referral networks, and reaching and educating uninsured Minnesotans about the importance of health insurance and how they can enroll through MNsure.

Proposals are due on or before 1 p.m. on April 6, 2015. Grant awards will be announced publicly in July 2015, giving award recipients ample time to prepare for the 2015 open enrollment period that begins on November 1, 2015.

In 2014, MNsure distributed nearly $4.6 million in Outreach and Enrollment grants to 28 lead organizations to support outreach and enrollment among uninsured communities and to build organizational capacity.

MNsure's navigator and grantee partners contributed to the increase in health care coverage in Minnesota by enrolling more than 45,000 individuals in health insurance through MNsure from October 2013 through September 2014.
