FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Beginning today, Minnesotans can use MNsure's plan comparison tool to preview health and dental plans available in their area and explore details about premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket costs and more. The tool also provides users with estimated financial assistance options, including tax credits or public program eligibility. /new-customers/enrollment-deadlines/open-enrollment/index.jspMNsure's open enrollment period begins November 1 and runs through December 23, 2019.

"Using MNsure's plan comparison tool is the only way for Minnesotans to compare plans side by side and choose the best health or dental plan option for their family, and to see if they're getting all the financial benefits they're entitled to," said MNsure CEO Nate Clark. "Minnesotans can view all of their options now so they can be ready to buy when open enrollment starts on November 1."

The plan comparison tool, which launched in 2018, was the first step in a larger transition of MNsure's shopping and enrollment experience. Beginning November 1, MNsure enrollees will see an upgraded dashboard that provides more control of their account with better self-service. From their dashboard, enrollees will be able to access an improved shopping and enrollment platform where they can easily compare available medical and dental plans, view their shopping cart, and enroll in a plan.

"The new shopping and enrollment platform will share the same look and capabilities of our plan comparison tool," said Clark. "This will provide Minnesotans with a more user-friendly shopping experience and make it easier to enroll in the the best plan for them and their family."

MNsure encourages Minnesotans to use the plan comparison tool to see if they may be eligible for tax credits or other financial assistance. MNsure is the only place Minnesotans can apply for financial help to lower the cost of their monthly insurance premium and out-of-pocket costs. Individuals earning nearly $50,000 a year, or a family of four earning up to $103,000 a year, could qualify. Additional /financial-help/income-guidelines/index.jspincome guidelines are available on the MNsure website. Approximately 60 percent of current MNsure enrollees are receiving tax credits.

Please note that while 2020 plans will be available to view on October 15, Minnesotans will not be able to enroll until November 1, 2019.

MNsure's seventh open enrollment period runs November 1, 2019, through December 23, 2019. More information can be found on MNsure.org.
