Compare Plans Through MNsure and See if You Can Save

ST. PAUL, Minn.—MNsure is reminding all Minnesotans, regardless of insurance status, to compare plans before the December 22 open enrollment deadline. Individuals who currently have health insurance elsewhere, are uninsured, or are already enrolled through MNsure are encouraged to see if they can save money. With new plan options available in every county in Minnesota, MNsure recommends using the plan comparison tool to view plans side by side and explore details about premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket costs and more. Minnesotans who sign up by the deadline will have coverage beginning on January 1, 2021.

“This year, nearly all counties in Minnesota have three or more health insurance companies offering plans on MNsure," said Nate Clark, MNsure CEO. "It's important to compare these new options so you can have the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have the health insurance plan that best meets your family's health care needs and budget. Come to MNsure.org, compare plans, and see if you can save some money."

Currently enrolled through MNsure

If you are already enrolled in a plan through MNsure and want to /current-customers/renew-change/renew-private/change.jspchange plans for 2021, you must log in to your MNsure account on MNsure.org during open enrollment and select a different plan by December 22 (the deadline for January 1, 2021 coverage).

For specific questions regarding plan features, such as deductibles, networks, co-pays or billing, you can /shop-compare/networks/index.jspcall the insurance company.

If you are already enrolled in a plan through MNsure and want to /current-customers/renew-change/renew-private/renew.jspkeep the same plan for 2021, MNsure will automatically renew you into the same or similar plan. You will continue to receive an invoice from your insurance company and must continue to make payments in order to maintain coverage. To ensure coverage is renewed, please respond quickly to any requests MNsure sends you for additional information.

Not currently enrolled through MNsure

MNsure is the only place you can apply for financial help to lower the cost of your monthly premium and out-of-pocket costs. Estimate costs and preview plans using MNsure's plan comparison tool. /new-customers/apply/index.jspApply and enroll on MNsure.org.

Minnesotans who need help enrolling can work with more than 2,000 /help/find-assister/index.jspMNsure-certified brokers and navigators around the state who provide free enrollment help through virtual meetings, phone appointments or in-person meetings that follow the Minnesota Department of Health’s COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Please note: low- or no-cost coverage is available through /financial-help/ma-mncare/index.jspMedical Assistance or MinnesotaCare for those who qualify. Enrollment in these programs is open year-round and provides comprehensive coverage. Members of a federally recognized /new-customers/who-can-enroll/american-indians/index.jspAmerican Indian tribe can also sign up any time year-round.

MNsure is Minnesota's health insurance marketplace where individuals and families can shop, compare and choose health insurance coverage that meets their needs. MNsure is the only place you can apply for financial help to lower the cost of your monthly insurance premium and out-of-pocket costs. Most Minnesotans who enroll through MNsure qualify for financial help.
