ST. PAUL, Minn.—Today, Governor Tim Walz appointed /about-us/board-committees/board/daniel-trajano.jspDr. Daniel Trajano to the MNsure Board of Directors.
Trajano is the founder and president of Pop Health Consulting. He previously worked as the vice president and senior medical director for government markets for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, as the vice president and executive medical director focused on population health for HealthEast Care System, as the vice president and senior medical director focused on population health for Medica, and as the senior medical director focused on quality, innovation, and public health for Park Nicollet – HealthPartners. He also previously practiced as a physician with the University of Minnesota and worked as a science teacher at Burnsville High School. He received his B.A. from Carleton College, his M.D. from the University of Minnesota, and his M.B.A. in health care from the University of St. Thomas.
“Dr. Trajano brings a critical perspective to MNsure’s mission through his experience and expertise as a physician and his years of focus on public health and health care issues,” said MNsure CEO Nate Clark. “We are pleased to welcome him to the board and look forward to his years of service.”
MNsure board members are appointed by the governor through the state's open appointments process and confirmed by the Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives. The commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Services is a standing member. Board members serve staggered four-year terms and are limited to two terms of service. All appointed members must have demonstrated that they do not have conflicts of interest.
