FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Minnesotans who need health insurance for 2025 can get an early start on health plan shopping through MNsure. Starting now, consumers can go to /shop-compare/compare/index.jspMNsure.org to check 2026 options and get a free, anonymous cost estimate. MNsure’s annual open enrollment period starts November 1

“The One Big Beautiful Bill did not extend enhanced tax credits for private health insurance, which means higher premiums next year for tens of thousands of Minnesotans," said MNsure CEO Libby Caulum. “However, even without the enhanced tax credits, eligible Minnesota families can still save an average of $600 per month — more than $7,000 a year — on private health plans through MNsure.”

With just three key pieces of information — where you live, who is in your household, and your total household income — consumers can get an immediate estimate of how much money they could save in 2026 by enrolling through MNsure. Consumers can explore all of the 2026 plans available in their area and compare plans from multiple insurance companies side by side.

New and notable in 2026

All Minnesotans have health plan choices from at least two insurance companies. Most Minnesotans have choices from three or more.

All bronze plans sold through MNsure work with health savings accounts (HSAs). In the past, consumers had to enroll in a high-deductible health plan to use an HSA — and many bronze plans didn’t qualify. Now, every bronze plan sold through MNsure meets the rules.

MNsure now partners with two more dental insurance companies: Companion and Humana. Five dental insurance companies now offer dental plans through MNsure across Minnesota.
